June 29th

Vintage Cool

Vintage Cool (Beryl Childs with Graham Crampin) have been performing together for several years.  They delight audiences with their arrangements of Jazz standards.

Young Musicians

Young Musicians from local schools entertain us again. They are taught and supported by staff from the Music and Performing Arts team. Today we are treated to children from St Peter’s C of E Primary Academy showcasing what they have learnt over the year.  

13th July

Circle of Life in Music and Verse  

A selection of verse and music, showing the circle of life from birth to death. Many greatly loved poems, with some less well-known surprises.  

20th July

Gentle Jazz  

Gentle Jazz has been playing for 40 years in various forms and with various personnel. Joined today by their singer Beryl Childs they will perform Jazz tunes, Latin Bossa Novas and Standards from the ‘American Song Book’ - from which jazz musicians love to improvise.  

27th July

Olivia and Joanne Townell with Joshua England  

Joshua England and Joanne Townell, two talented and dedicated musicians are a cello and piano duo. Josh and Jo have been playing together for three years, performing a captivating collection of both popular and classical music to a variety of audiences. Olivia Townell has been singing since the age of seven. She will sing a variety of music from classical to musical theatre.  

3rd August

Adele Dixon with Barry Whitfield  

Adele and Barry are both very popular local musicians who have performed regularly at St Peter’s. Adele sings in a variety of styles and studies opera in Italy. Barry plays the piano and organ, performing regularly with his jazz trio.  

10th August

Adrian Roberts  

Adrian Roberts loves the organ and giving recitals which he has done all over the world. He was Director of Music at King William's College, IOM before a stint at Grimsby Minster. Now based in Yorkshire he regularly plays with The Lincoln Singers in Cathedrals all over the country.  

17th August

Victoria Lowther and Steven Maxson  

Victoria has sung for us before and is accompanied by Steven Maxson who is well known as an organist, conductor, accompanist, composer, and arranger.  

24th August

Elicia and Friends  

Elicia is fifteen years old and attends St James’ School, Grimsby. She studies cello with Miriam Roycroft in Leeds and is taught singing by Frances (Brookes) Thompson. Elicia has won many awards at music festivals over the years as a cellist, soprano and pianist and has presented a number of concerts as a solo musician. Elicia’s programme will incorporate works by Handel, Berteau/Sammartini, Faure, Mozart, Novello and Rodgers and Hammerstein.  

31st August

Dixieland Jazz

Made up of local musicians this group performs regular sessions at nearby venues. They play all types of Traditional & New Orleans/Dixieland Jazz.
